126 BCSPL players are heading to university soccer programs in 2019!

The EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League is pleased to announce the 126 players from its U18 boys and girls divisions (2001 born) that have committed and are on their way to university soccer programs for the 2019 fall season. These commitments include schools in USPORTS, the NCAA, CCAA and the NAIA.

The Canada West division of USPORTS was the overwhelming destination for 61 of these BCSPL graduates, with 11 heading to the University of the Fraser Valley alone, 10 heading for the University of Victoria, and 8 on their way to the University of Northern British Columbia.

The BCSPL has placed a large emphasis on the university pathway. In 2019, the BCSPL operated its University Showcase weekend in Kamloops for its 4th consecutive year, also including teams from Nova Scotia and Alberta, and had 27 soccer programs on site scouting future university student athletes.

Showing further support of the university pathway, in 2019 the BCSPL awarded another $4000 in scholarships to four graduating players. Since the scholarship program’s inception in 2013, and including these 2019 awards, the BCSPL has now awarded $40,000 to its graduating players.

Congratulations to all players, and their clubs, for working hard to secure these exciting opportunities! The list of graduating players can be found here
