The EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League announces its 2018 Phase 1 calendar

Building on a great 2017, the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League calendar for 2018 is enhanced with more opportunities for development and showcasing of BCSPL players.

 

Starting with a brand new 5 week pilot futsal program in January and February for 2005 born players, and finishing with the Provincial Premier Cup taking place on Vancouver Island, the eight BCSPL franchises have worked hard to ensure variety and development initiatives are realized.

 

IMPORTANT 2018 DATES:

 

FUTSAL – Pilot program for 2005 born male and female players

REFEREE EDUCATION – Referee Manager Igor Cvetkovski will be leading a pre-season referee education evening for all past, present and future BCSPL officials

SHOWCASE EVENTS

  · March 30-April 1 – Whitecaps FC Showcase – all U15-U18 (2003-2000 born) BCSPL teams will participate

  · May 26/27 – BCSPL College ID Weekend – hosted by Thompson Okanagan FC in Kamloops – all U16/U17 (2002-2001 born) BCSPL teams will participate, along with Tier 1 teams from Alberta

 

BLACKOUT DATES

  · March 24/25 is the designated spring break weekend with no BCSPL games/events scheduled

  · May 19-21 is a holiday weekend, and no BCSPL games/events are currently scheduled.  However, there is agreement that clubs can move league games to this weekend to help with schedule congestion, and that will require both clubs to agree.

 

As with all seasons of play, your club controls your team’s overall master schedule.  They will most likely have other tournaments, games or events scheduled outside of those official dates listed above, so always check with your team.
